I like to hike. A lot. I've covered more than 7,000 miles on foot since 2011. I've thru-hiked the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail and the 2,600 mile Pacific Crest Trail.

I've hiked most of the big trails in my home state of Michigan including being the first to hike the 924 mile
Pure Michigan Trail from Detroit to Ironwood.

I was honored to be nominated for a Governor's Fitness Award and I've been fortunate to work with Pure Michigan, the Michigan DNR, Moosejaw gear stores and the Michigan Trails and Greenways Alliance.

I finished the 3,100 mile Continental Divide Trail on September 11, 2014. I started in Mexico on April 17, 2014.  I now enjoy the title of being a Triple Crown hiker.

I'm already planning for my next hike on the Israel National Trail. I hope to experience more of the best of nature and the best of mankind on this new long hike in 2016. Visit my blog to follow along on what I'm currently up to.
